Bobcat introduces a new line of rotary telescopic handlers. This new line includes nine models with Stage V-compliant engines, lift heights from 18 to 39 meters and lift capacities from 5 to 8 tons for the European market. In addition, there are four models in the series with Stage IIIA engines for the Middle East and Africa with lifting heights from 18 to 26 meters and lifting capacities from 5 to 6 tons.
The models with lift heights of 18 to 26 meters are powered by Deutz engines and the models with lift heights of 27 to 39 m are equipped with Volvo engines. The Stage IIIA and Stage V models with the same lifting height also have engines from the same manufacturers, making maintenance and training easier.
The main improvement in the new series of rotary telehandlers is the patented panoramic cabin, which provides an excellent view of the work environment. In addition, a number of interesting innovations have been added to the cab:
All Bobcat rotary telescopic handlers are additionally equipped with a new dashboard with a 7- or 12-inch display on which the operator can choose from three image views: the classic, real-time dynamic load capacity diagram; a new dynamic load capacity diagram for the boom, which shows the operator the area in which he can safely move a load and, finally, a 360° view from above.
In addition to this improved functionality, the cab also offers new details, such as an LED light behind the driver's seat for better lighting in the cab. The telescopic handler's remote control can now be stored in a special compartment when not in use. There is also a new LED light under the left armrest, which automatically turns on when the door opens and illuminates the bottom of the cab, helping with entry and exit.
To facilitate access to the cab of the new rotary telescopic handlers, the placement and design of the access stairs have been modified. The stairs are now more comfortable to use thanks to two handles and are also positioned more towards the center, in front of the cab. An additional staircase is now also standard on the right rear of the machine, making it easier to access the rear of the boom for maintenance.
A new button on the joystick allows the operator to easily align the turret with the access steps on the right and left sides of the telescopic handler.
With the base models in the new range of rotary telehandlers, Bobcat now offers solutions for four main lifting height segments, namely 18 meters, 21 to 22 meters, 25 to 26 meters and 30 to 32 meters. For each height, there are more choices in terms of lifting capacity. In addition, Bobcat also offers additional models in these segments; each with 1 ton of additional lifting capacity.
In the new range, Bobcat can also offer a fifth segment: namely rotary telescopic handlers for 27, 35 and 39 meters lifting height and increased lifting capacity of up to 8 tons.
Worldwide, the market for rotary telescopic handlers continues to grow. As many as 4,500 were sold in 2023. The market is mainly concentrated in Europe (85%), with 76% of sales realized in Italy, Germany, France and the Benelux countries. North America accounts for 10% of the global market and the last 5% is sold in the rest of the world.
