EuroCIS looks to the future

Elke Moebius, director of EuroCIS/Euroshop at Messe Düsseldorf, started with a presentation about EuroCIS. "From Feb. 27 to 29, more than 400 exhibitors from 30 different countries will present their innovative solutions and products" explained Elke. "These include mega-players such as McDonalds, Starbucks, Adidas and Epson. There will be three main stages. The retail technology stage, the connected retail stage and a startup stage, where the young community presents itself with 15 interesting startups." At the show, big and small brands will have the opportunity to show how their solutions and products will change the future of retail.

Trends in the retail industry

Ulrich Spaan, senior vice president at EHI Retail Institute, talked about current trends within the retail technology industry. EHI is a research institute based in Cologne. Ulrich showed the press in attendance which technologies are going to influence the industry. "The advent of AI is one of the most important technological changes in the industry. Contactless cash registers are also on the rise. In addition, many retailers are striving to be closer to the customer. Personalized customer service is very important in this regard."

Finally, Liam Parry, manager of Product Management at Epson Europe BV, explains why EuroCIS is so important to the printer brand. "EuroCIS is really indispensable for Epson. It's an opportunity to network with industry, talk to users and proudly showcase our latest innovations and inventions." Epson can be found at the show in Hall 9, spot D40.

New innovations

The company is showing three new innovations at this year's show. "The TM-m30III, a printer with a nice and simple design. It is compact and has the ability to connect to WiFi. In addition, it has a USB-C input, which everyone has in their home by now. This makes it easy to use. It is a printer that does everything for the customer. This makes it an excellent solution for retailers," says Liam.

"The TM-P II series is an innovative mobile printer. It is designed so that it is easy to take with you. This printer can be used in four different ways. As a handheld, on a belt, on the shoulder and with your desktop. In addition, the device is also durable, with smaller packaging and reduced paper use."

Liam concludes with the TM-m30II-SL. "This innovative printer pairs with a tablet. It is universal, so you pair the printer with all kinds of tablets. This printer can even hang on the wall. That gives retailers a lot of options."

Elke adds: "We look forward to meeting everyone at the show and seeing all the innovative solutions!"
