We see it more and more around homes, apartment buildings, commercial buildings and parking garages, and now also around distribution centers: green, sustainable facades. In an era where people want to "green up" a lot, this offers a solution. Especially in urban areas where space is limited. This is not only a good development for the eye, but also offers a positive contribution to a healthy living environment and biodiversity.
In the development phase of new construction projects, the desire to create a sustainable and even circular living space regularly emerges. Municipalities are increasingly taking it as a requirement and private individuals are also more concerned with sustainable and "green" living. The climbing aid systems from Carl Stahl Green Walls fit in extremely well with this. These systems form the basis for a sustainable green facade, which in combination with the growing climbing plant contributes to a healthy living environment and high biodiversity. In addition, it gives the facade natural cooling and acts as a sound barrier in a sustainable and natural way.
As a manufacturer and supplier of climbing aid systems, Carl Stahl Green Walls experiences that the demand for climbing aid systems comes from different target groups. "We have private individuals, gardeners, contractors and (landscape) architects as customers. We know better than anyone else how small, large, diverse and complex facades are and are therefore happy to offer each one a suitable system. If required, we also provide the engineering and assembly," says Marketing Manager Jennifer Swagers.
Carl Stahl Green Walls offers three different systems: the tension cable system with spacers, the tension cable system without spacers and the cable net system. The first system is often seen on houses and apartment complexes. Thanks to the different types of spacers, the cables can be stretched vertically, but also horizontally, diagonally or in free forms for a playful effect.
The tension cable system is used when large distances need to be covered or when the facade is just a little different or open. Cable netting is often used when dense plant cover is desired. The net is a nice ivy for plants and it can also serve as a partition or fall protection. In this case, balustrades or fencing can be omitted, which also makes it more economical to apply such a cable net. "We regularly apply this construction in parking garages pursuing sustainable infrastructure," Swagers explains "but now also in the form of a gigantic nature screen around distribution center Ara."
The ideological goal of Carl Stahl Green Walls is to make the world a little greener. Judging by the popularity of the climbing aid system, people in the Netherlands and Belgium seem to be embracing this mission.
