The new Hitachi ZX220W-7 wheeled excavator has wide appeal to operators and operators alike, with a comprehensive range of features designed to help manage their profitability, comfort, safety and employability. The largest in the Hitachi range of mobile excavators, this highly versatile model also benefits from unparalleled support throughout its life cycle.
Business owners' sales will increase thanks to the impressive fuel economy of this Stage V-compliant machine. The unique and industry-leading HIOS III hydraulic system achieves higher productivity with lower fuel consumption than previous models, helping to reduce operating costs. Operators can also monitor fuel consumption and costs with the all-new ECO gauge, which is clearly visible on the large LCD monitor.
Business owners can further increase their revenue by working on a wider variety of projects thanks to the Zaxis-7 mobile excavator's excellent versatility. It can be used with a wide range of Hitachi attachments, such as tilt rotators and buckets, demolition hammers and grading grabs, depending on the application. These can be easily interchanged using the improved attachment support system and can be easily transported using the optional trailer support package. The new model can also be tuned to operator preferences and job site requirements - for optimum productivity and reduced fuel consumption.
The redesigned Zaxis-7 cab is the perfect working environment for operators. It is ultra spacious and offers ultimate comfort and quality, with low noise and less vibration than the previous generation.
Drivers will feel less fatigued at the end of their shift thanks to the synchronized movement of the seat and console. Easy operation also comes from: the new ergonomic design of the console and switches; easy access to controls; and features such as cruise control, automatic transmission and the optional ride control system that suppresses front attachment vibration.
Added functionality to the easy-to-read screen and joysticks, and the automatic brake, are also included in this state-of-the-art cab to ensure an effortless workday.
The cab also provides superior visibility of the job site to protect operators and the machine from potential hazards. Visibility is enhanced by an exceptional 270-degree bird's eye view with the Aerial Angle camera system. Operators can choose from six image options on the monitor to view their immediate surroundings. Their view through the cab windshield is also enhanced by the slim steering column (with larger angle of adjustment) and smaller steering wheel.
To enable operators to work more confidently and productively, even in challenging conditions, Zaxis-7 wheeled excavators are equipped with new features such as LED work lights, a windshield wiper with a larger sweeping area and larger mirrors. Heated mirrors are also available as an option. For added safety, the superstructure and front equipment are locked when the machine is in the correct position for driving on public roads.
Like all new Zaxis-7 mobile excavators, the ZX220W-7 is built to last. Rigorous testing in special facilities in Japan ensures that it delivers reliable performance and high uptime.
Durability and quality are reflected in every detail, including: the one-piece undercarriage that benefits from more oscillation; improved outrigger hydraulics; and fenders that protect the upper structure from debris. For increased lift capacity and exceptional stability, customers can choose from a range of counterweights and between standard 2550 mm axles or wide 2750 mm axles for the ZX220W-7. Downtime is prevented by the durable after-treatment system and minimized by the priority given to easy maintenance and cleaning.
With remote monitoring systems from Hitachi, owners have complete control over their fleet and workload with access to vital data thanks to Owner's Site and ConSite. Both systems send daily operational data via GPRS or satellite from the excavator to Global e-Service. ConSite summarizes the information in a monthly e-mail, and the ConSite Pocket app displays real-time alerts for potential problems. Machine software updates can be performed remotely by dealers for added convenience using ConSite Air. This feature also allows Zaxis-7 excavators to be monitored anywhere in the world with Hitachi's diagnostic tool (MPDr. Remote Access), ensuring maximum uptime.
In addition, a unique innovation continuously monitors engine and hydraulic oil quality 24/7. Via two oil sensors, data are sent daily to Global e-Service. These detect whether oil quality has deteriorated due to contamination or low viscosity. It reduces maintenance and unplanned downtime and gives owners peace of mind thanks to scheduled maintenance and a higher trade-in value.
"We are delighted to introduce the largest model Zaxis-7 mobile excavator," said Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV Excavator Product Manager Wilbert Blom. "We have had tremendously positive feedback from customers on the new series so far and we hope the ZX220W-7 will be equally well received.
"It provides excellent versatility for a wide range of applications when used with Hitachi attachments and delivers exceptional performance, enabling our customers to create their vision."
