Inspiring review of ICT&Logistics and Logistica Next 2024

From November 5 to 7, 2024, Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs in Utrecht was dominated by the future of logistics. The trade shows ICT&Logistics and Logistica Next attracted over 10,500 visitors, an increase of 10 percent over the previous edition. This growth confirms their status as the logistics meeting places in the Benelux. The fairs not only offered the latest technological innovations and trends, but also a valuable platform for professionals to make contacts and learn from each other.

During this edition, Essensium was awarded the prestigious Logistica Award for their groundbreaking SafeTrack system, a brand-independent safety system for warehouse trucks. This innovative technology, supported by artificial intelligence, helps improve workplace safety by detecting and minimizing risks early on. Corien den Ouden, exhibition manager at Jaarbeurs, emphasizes that the presentation of this award shows how important trade fairs are for showing technological advances and stimulating innovation within the sector.

Synergy between ICT and logistics

The integration of ICT&Logistics and Logistica Next has proven its added value, as technology and intralogistics processes are becoming increasingly intertwined. Corien den Ouden explains that the merger of the trade shows fits with current logistics developments. ICT now plays a crucial role in warehouse management and automation, enabling companies to operate more efficiently and sustainably.

In addition, the joint trade fair provides a platform for knowledge sharing and cooperation in the field of robotization and artificial intelligence. According to Mike Oerlemans, marketer at Boltrics, ICT and logistics are now closely linked, ensuring more cohesion between visitors to both trade shows. Meral Arslan, sales manager at FKK Wheels, also welcomes the synergy: "The trade shows are essential to connect the future of logistics and it gives us the opportunity to connect with the latest developments."
