The International Rental Exhibition (IRE) in 2021 could play an important role in the recovery of the rental industry that has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was previously announced that the trade show had been rescheduled from June 2020 to June 15 to 17, 2021 due to the virus.
The organizers of IRE, Industrial Promotions International and the KHL Group, will do everything in their power to make the show happen in June 2021 and put all their vigor and energy into making the stricken sector a successful meeting place again. And enable the international rental community to reunite post-crisis. Despite the uncertainty about the continuing impact of COVID-19.
Most exhibitors have kept their bookings and 68 companies have now confirmed that they will be back at the MECC in Maastricht in June 2021. These suppliers offer a wide range of rental products and services, from containers, compact equipment, gensets and light towers to rental software, asset tracking technology, mini excavators, light towers, compressors and power tools. IRE attendees also have free admission to APEX; this trade show for mobile work platforms takes place simultaneously with the IRE.
According to recent forecasts, the European rental market will be recovering by June 2021, after the malaise in which it was hit by COVID-19. In fact, the latest forecast from the European Rental Association - which will hold its annual convention in Maastricht during IRE - indicates that the German rental sector is expected to grow by 5.7%, the UK rental sector by 4.6%, Italy by 7.1%, France by 8.4% and Spain by 5.2%.
"June 2021 is good timing to help the rental industry recover from an exceptional crisis," said James King, Managing Director of KHL Group.
"It is for this very reason that we greatly appreciate the support of our exhibitors. IRE will provide a great opportunity for the industry to regroup, share pandemic experiences and discuss fleet investment plans while the market is recovering."
IRE 2021 will be held at the Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Centre (MECC) in Maastricht from June 15 to 17. As in previous editions, IRE will also host the ERA's annual convention and the presentation of the European Rental Awards.
Located in the heart of the Euregio, Maastricht is also called the most European city in the Netherlands. Easily accessible by car or train from all over Europe. During IRE 2021, free shuttle buses will run between MECC and Brussels Zaventem and Düsseldorf airport.
