'Our design has been the same for 40 years'  

Moving or adding on is no problem at all

"I like that we produce our warehouse shelving ourselves," Ron Konings says when asked what he likes about his job. "Otherwise you become one of those catalog salesmen," he adds somewhat jokingly. As director of operations, Konings has worked at Europe Racking, which grew out of Bosal Warehouse Equipment, since 2006. The company specializes in high-quality warehouse racking and warehouse equipment. "What never bores me is thinking along with our clients. After all these years, I still find it incredibly fun to come up with a solution for every nook and cranny, so that the client uses his spaces as efficiently as possible."

And using spaces down to the last centimeter is currently a hot topic. "We notice that companies have a great need for capacity solutions. Because we have been designing our materials the same way for forty years, our racks can easily be moved with us or built on. In addition, our components have sufficient load-bearing capacity to build a floor on them, which often proves to be an ideal solution."

Future-proof warehouse

While other suppliers regularly change their components making them later incompatible, Europe Racking has instead stayed true to its original 1984 design. "Our warehouse racks are modular, fully demountable and reusable. In addition, thanks to their high quality, they have an incredibly long service life. The Alliance Automotive Group is a customer of ours with a large number of branches. They have a lot of turnover. That is, they sometimes close a branch to reopen one in another location. That's why they like to use our warehouse racking because it's reusable and easy to assemble. By the way, our contact there told us that he absolutely cannot tell the difference between the new parts and the parts they have had for 25 years."

Additional floor

"I just came from a customer who has been using our racks for thirty years. He is currently struggling with a lack of space. I suggested building a floor on top of the existing racking. He was extremely happy with this solution because it means he doesn't have to expand his premises. Because our design doesn't change, you also don't have to do everything at once. You can always decide years later to add a suspension for V-belts. Or add an extra drawer or door."

Europe Racking can install a mezzanine floor on top of a rack, but also create a freestanding floor. The latter offers the possibility of using the space under the floor for, for example, a workshop or parking vans.

Strong team

Europe Racking chooses to work only with its own people. "This benefits communication with the client and our team. The assembly crews know exactly what to do, work neatly and very efficiently. We also deliberately don't let our representatives work on commission. When we visit customers, we sometimes see that a competitor has not offered the most ideal solution. Then we find a lot of unnecessary material. This of course benefits the bonus of the account manager in question, but certainly not the most advantageous and efficient solution for the customer."

Europe Racking has its own production facility in the Netherlands, which allows them to deliver quickly and cost efficiently. "We supply both standard and customized products. Everything of high quality and with a premium appearance. Powder coating on color is also one of the possibilities. A lot we can solve with products from our standard assortment and if necessary we supplement that with custom work developed and produced in-house."
