Short response times and substantial growth

Customized cooling solutions. That's what Delta-Temp promises its customers, in rentals and sales. A promise it also keeps. That's the least you can conclude from the substantial growth the company has experienced over the past five years. It doubled its fleet and number of mechanics, for example. The message in this story? The choice of modern, energy-efficient equipment and the technical baggage of the entire team to find the best possible solution for customers every time.

Delta-Temp specializes in industrial cooling and heating rental. This can range from small mobile air conditioners of 7 kW to monobloc installations of 1,500 kW and everything in between. "And this both for process cooling and air conditioning," explains marketing and communications manager Bruno Deneyer. "Customers hire from us for very different reasons: when their own installation breaks down, during major maintenance work, to cope with seasonal peaks, when temporarily more production capacity and thus cooling is needed ... But in the end they all want the same thing: a solution that does what it promises and a fast and flexible service. That's what we try to give them. So we have a large fleet of modern equipment and we do everything in-house, including transport. That's the only way you can live up to those short response times."

Technically the right solution

Going to the limit for customers starts with the right technical advice. "Customers may know what they need, but they don't know what our machines can do. For somewhat more complex questions, that's why we like to go on site and take a look. That way we can perfectly assess what is needed in terms of cooling and heating and match it with a customized solution. If there is a solution, we can offer it," makes product manager Davy De Smet, "if desired with all accessories included, such as pumps, air hoses and generators." 

Delta-Temp bills itself as a one-stop shop for its customers. "Our focus is on refrigeration, that's where our know-how is. For other matters, we work with regular partners so that the customer gets an installation that runs as it should. Thorough preparation also bears fruit later in the project. I already communicate with the technicians about the situation on site so that the installation itself can proceed as smoothly as possible. The less impact on the production process, the better," says Bruno.

Other principle

And this is where Delta-Temp often succeeds better than competitors. A major international name in logistics called in the specialists from Oosterzele last summer. The company wanted its warehouse workers to be able to work comfortably, even on the hottest days of the year. It involved a total of seven areas where it had to remain pleasant to work. "The solution they had previously invested in proved inadequate," says Davy. "We advised them installations that work on a different principle. Instead of drawing in warm outside air and cooling it, we draw in inside air, cool it and then blow the warm air outside. In this way, the temperature in the room becomes progressively cooler." To do this, Delta-Temp installed five EVO chillers with outputs between 200 and 300 kW, distributed throughout the different zones. These EVO chillers were developed by Delta-Temp specifically for the rental market. They are durable (R32 refrigerant), energy-efficient, robust, intelligent (remote monitoring) and plug-and-play to install. One of the toppers in the range.

More than twice as fast

A customized solution was thus devised for each zone. And also a backup plan. Davy: "Because we knew that the devices would run at their limits, an alternative was possible with special boosters to pull the flow rate even higher." It never got that far. The customer himself called to ask if it could be a little less cold. A piece of cake, by the way, because the EVO chillers can be adjusted remotely. "After the rental period, they immediately signed up for next summer. The best proof that we met expectations. However, this was not an easy project. One room in particular turned out to be particularly complex. For that, we had custom-made air hoses to blow out the cooler air in a very targeted way, where it was needed." The customer was satisfied not only with the cooling result, but also with the installation time. That went from almost three weeks to just one week. "This is due to the thorough preparation, the plug-and-play devices and the team's expertise. They know what to do," assures Bruno Deneyer.
