Vos Logistics has taken delivery of the first New Generation DAF XF 430 FT Low Deck tractors for its branches in Kerkrade and Eschweiler. These are 11 trucks, part of a total series of 21. Vos Logistics will use these tractors in particular to carry out automotive mega volume transport for, among other things, delivery to DAF Trucks N.V.
"This is the result of a great cooperation between Loven Trucks and DAF Netherlands," said Marc Schols, Business Unit Manager at Vos Logistics. He recently received the keys to the new DAFs from the hands of Leo Loven of Loven Trucks. "For years a large part of our fleet has consisted of DAF vehicles. The experiences are good and the cooperation with the dealer excellent. We have high expectations of this New Generation DAF XF."
The silence in the cabin makes a big impression and so does the increased driving comfort. These are the experiences of Vos Logistics where the first kilometers with the new DAFs have now been completed. Schols: "It is definitely a much quieter vehicle. And of course, as a company, we are counting on the new XF being more economical as well. Actually, we don't doubt that, judging from experiences of other transport companies with the New Generation DAFs."
To realize the most favorable consumption possible, the drivers receive instruction on how to make optimal use of the electronic systems and drive technology. Schols: "We have our own instructor for this. He has received training at DAF and passes on the knowledge gained there to our drivers. For example, I know that it is important to take advantage of the truck's roll-out. This New Generation rolls much smoother and longer, and you can save fuel that way."
Vos Logistics deploys the new DAF XF 430 FT tractors for automotive mega volume transport, which is why the Low Deck version was chosen. Several addresses are visited daily. Approximately 110,000 kilometers per year are covered by the trucks for automotive transport, which is a significant part of the tasks.
Making things simple, manageable and efficient for customers is what Vos Logistics stands for. With a network of 30 own branches, the company is active throughout Europe. In the field of international bulk and volume transport (mega and high volume), Vos Logistics is among the larger road transporters in Europe. With 2,850 employees, the company operates a fleet of 1,200 vehicles, 4,400 loading units and 300,000 m2 storage capacity.
