Ground-breaking overhead doors without spring package

For newly built out warehouse

On the new business park H2O, southwest of Zwolle, we have found Verhoek Europe's distribution center since the end of last year. A prime location near the freeway in the economically strong region of Gelderland and the ideal place for an oversized warehouse. The new complex, named Verhoek Europe - Hattemerbroek, has no less than 20,000 m² of high-quality logistics space. The warehouse is equipped with the very latest ASSA ABLOY OH1142P Dual Drive overhead doors. 

Verhoek Europe is a versatile international logistics service provider with over 70 years of experience. The company distributes goods throughout almost all of Europe under its own direction, which means that quality, commitment, service and availability always go hand in hand. The newest distribution center of this ambitious family business was completed last fall by construction company Pleijsier Bouw. Warehouse Hattemerbroek Verhoek was developed by-and owned by Borghese Logistics and was designed by Mies Architectuur and Pelecon structural engineers. 

"This brand new full electric complex is particularly attractive for a logistics company," states Steven van der Sloot, project coordinator at Pleijsier Bouw. "Not only the location, but also the flexibility of the building that can be divided into several functional units and the BREEAM Very Good certification offer many advantages. It was logical that Verhoek Europe housed its distribution center there."

Attractive door principle for today and tomorrow

Well before the foundation stone was laid, the parties involved decided together to integrate the pioneering ASSA ABLOY OH1142P Dual Drive overhead doors into the building. "Innovation is high on Pleijsier Bouw's list of priorities so it was a natural decision to install this new door system here," Steven van der Sloot emphasizes.

"The OH1142P dock doors absolutely meet expectations: they are extremely fast and efficient and take up considerably less space. The implementation of the new system also went smoothly. There was excellent contact between our contractor and the ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems team. Moreover, not only the engineers were present during the construction of the dock doors; the developers of the system also watched closely. Add to that the quality of the doors and you end up with a very attractive door principle that will certainly prove its worth in the future," says Steven van der Sloot.

Smart loading and unloading systems 

The warehouse building is equipped with 28 smart loading and unloading systems based on ASSA ABLOY OH1142P Dual Drive dock doors with 'Dual Drive' technology. These sectional overhead doors with no spring package operate faster, smoother and more reliably than standard overhead doors. The spring package is replaced by a dual drive motor, attached to the lower door panel. This simplifies installation and maintenance, and a door system takes up less space. In addition, the standard IoT module allows them to be connected to the ASSA ABLOY Insight digital access management platform, which provides key insights to optimize the flow of people and goods and increase security. In addition, 28 DL6010S Swingdock levellers, 28 DS6060S Curtain shelters, 28 wheel guides and 5 additional OH1042P overhead doors were installed at ground level.
