Anyone visiting Axelent's website will discover at a glance an extensive range of machine guards, mesh wall systems, collision protection solutions and cable management systems. The originally Swedish company - founded in 1990 - is also strong in Belgium in the field of security solutions for companies. A portrait of new CEO Andreas Becquet, who shows us around a warm family business with that typical real Axelent spirit.

The company's roots are in Hillerstorp, Sweden, where its headquarters are still located. "The company has its roots in the Swedish manufacturing industry," says Andreas Becquet. "With five companies - Axelent, Axelent Engineering, Axelent Solutions, Axelent Safe-X and Axelent Wire Tray - Axelent Group has all the expertise to boost the business of industrial players, anywhere in the world. We do this through automation, safety, efficient procedures, function and competence. Product development, production, storage and packaging: it all happens in Sweden."

Freshman CEO

Ever since his teenage years, Andreas has been part of the Axelent family. "Together with Swedish co-founder Folke Axelsson, my father Carl started Axelent's Benelux branch in 2003," Andreas looks back. "At the age of twenty-one I came on board, after which I rolled up my sleeves for various tasks, such as installation visits to customers, on-site measurements, preparing quotations and sales visits. In this way, I got to know our company very well and slowly grew into jobs with more responsibility. Since the beginning of this year, I have taken over the role of my father, and so I am at the helm of Axelent Benelux. Big shoes to fill, but I look to the future with confidence and ambition."

One Axelent

That future looks bright. "Together with my team and with all the companies in the group, I want to continue focusing on the common values of a close-knit family business. In our culture, pleasant living and working is central," Andreas confirms. "We call this approach One Axelent. This emphasizes inclusion and teamwork, both between employees and between our companies, nationally and internationally. As an employee, you are part of the family within the Axelent Group, regardless of which company you work in."

With sales offices in over fifty countries and safety solutions sold worldwide, Axelent Benelux is part of a solid group. A group where sustainability, environment and well-being at work are not buzzwords, but an integral part of the business operations. "We not only develop and sell safety solutions for our customers, but also actively apply this theme for our own employees. Safety and healthy working are a priority for us. In addition, we also assume our environmental responsibility: the Axelent Group co-owns wind turbines and markets products that are fully recyclable."
