Bos Dynamics chooses Volvo trucks with fuel-efficient Turbo Compound engine

With the commissioning of ten Volvo FH 460 4×2 tractors, Bos Dynamics has added a new brand to its fleet. The logistics service provider from Ede chose the Volvo FH with the economical Turbo Compound engine after a successful demo deployment. The service provided by the Volvo Trucks dealer also weighed heavily in the decision. "The first results confirm us in our choice: the trucks score incredibly well in terms of fuel consumption," says Dr. K. K., a Volvo Trucks dealer. A follow-up order for a further seven FH tractors, three of them in Aero trim, has been placed. 

Bos Dynamics from Ede specializes in the transport of outsize goods at home and abroad. The company uses seventy of its own trucks with trailers and tippers for transport, including ten Volvo FH 460 4×2 tractors with the economical Turbo Compound engine. Bos Dynamics did not take any chances when choosing Volvo Trucks. 

"We spent three weeks demo driving a Volvo FH with Turbo Compound engine," says Cor-Albert Bos, director-owner of Bos Dynamics. "To get a good picture, we drove different routes with three different drivers. The results were heartening: the truck was very economical. That convinced us to choose Volvo Trucks. All ten trucks have now been on the road for a while and the first measurements confirm our choice. The fuel consumption of the trucks is between 1:4 and 1:4.2, which is very good for our work. We have therefore placed a follow-up order for another seven FH tractors, three of which are in Aero version." 

Comfortable riding and resting

The new trucks feature a Globetrotter XL cab. "We want to make the driver as comfortable as possible, both while driving and resting," said Richard Vlastuin, fleet manager for Bos Dynamics. "We get a lot of positive feedback from drivers about what it's like to drive these trucks. They love the peace of mind and driving comfort that the I-Shift gearbox provides. The cab is also designed for comfort. For example, the passenger seat can swivel. When the driver rests in the cab, he can relax and stretch his legs."
