Prestigious award for mobile weighing highlights innovativeness

For many companies, the weight of goods is an essential part of their business process, but at the same time the weighing process is an inhibiting factor. We therefore observe a clear trend in which static industrial floor scales are being replaced by mobile weighing systems. RAVAS Mobile Weighing is at the forefront of weighing and measuring technology and was recently awarded the prestigious IFOY Award for their unique Weighing in Motion technology. 

This technology, integrated on an intelligent carriage plate, makes it possible to accurately record the weight of pallets while a forklift is in motion. This saves a lot of time, space and money, in part because all data is collected accurately and in real time. Last but not least, the system increases safety on the shop floor.

Known as one of the most prestigious awards within the international forklift industry, the IFOY Award highlights the most innovative and impactful developments within the sector. The jury awarded RAVAS the prize in the 'Special of the Year' category, which focuses on profitability, sustainability and working conditions, due to the innovative nature of the technology that provides reliable measurements while driving. Unique

Elgar Feddema, commercial director of RAVAS: "We are extremely proud of this award, but then we have a unique product. Highly accurate, so they meet the legal requirements for calibration and calibration throughout Europe. This has the advantage that the weighing solution can be delivered 'Legal for Trade' and can therefore be used for trade purposes, such as invoicing. The system is also very compact and robust, making it suitable for harsher and more extreme environments."

New weighing pallet truck

"We recently presented the RAVAS Ergo-Truck 2, the successor to our first electric hand pallet truck. This is an entry-level model with which one not only drives and lifts electrically, but also determines the exact weight in real time. It can function as a standalone version with a printer, but can also be integrated into an ERP, TMS or WMS system, sending the weights directly as a data set. The latest model features more functionality, such as stabilization wheels and a lower chance of shipping damage. The system also has improved charging time and battery life, with the option to add a second battery, allowing the Ergo-Truck 2 to be operational for up to 11 hours."

Ergonomic

RAVAS Mobile Weighing also recently introduced the RAVAS iPT Essential. In addition to things like reliability and uptime, this hand pallet truck was designed with great attention to ergonomics. While the weight indicator is normally located on the frame, in this case it is deliberately placed on the handle to eliminate the need for the user to bend down to read the data. The clever placement of the display on the lever as well as the use of e-paper makes the display easy to read from any angle. This ensures a much more ergnomic working position and greater ease of use. Feddema: "Moreover, the display on the handle is less susceptible to damage than when it is on the frame. The iPT has also been extensively tested to ensure durability: we conducted a 50,000-cycle test."

Measure in Motion

RAVAS also offers Measure in Motion technology where, in addition to the weight, the exact dimensions of palletized goods are read.
