Linde MH shows impressive material handling solutions at LogiMAT 2024

Automation solutions offer huge opportunities when it comes to material handling. At the LogiMAT, taking place from March 19 to 21 in Stuttgart, Germany, Linde Material Handling (MH) will demonstrate the possibilities available to small, medium and large companies. They will also show how a wide range of projects can be successfully implemented. Energy, safety and warehouse intelligence are other important topics at the centrally located exhibition stand in Hall 10. With the widest range of energy and safety options for material handling and leading technical solutions for goods flows, the intralogistics specialist supports its customers on their way to greater efficiency, sustainability and performance.

Linde's main booth in Hall 10 (booths B21 and B17) covers more than 500 square meters and highlights current trends in intralogistics: Automation, Energy, Safety and Warehouse Intelligence. Corresponding products and solutions designed to optimize internal material flow will be on display. A live demonstration will show flexible and scalable automation solutions with automated guided trucks (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). Just a few meters away from the booth, on the loading dock between halls 8 and 10, visitors can test lift trucks themselves or attend truck demonstrations. Various assistance systems will be on display, including the AI-based Reverse Assist Camera, which alerts drivers of forklifts to people behind the truck. And also in the outdoor area between halls 9 and 10, you can learn about various smart solutions from Linde.

At LogiMAT 2024, Linde will showcase its expertise as the expert partner for material flow process automation. "Together with our network partners, we have successfully planned and implemented hundreds of projects in recent years," reports Rochelmeyer, referring to the sales organization's extensive expertise and experience gained from both small and large projects. In addition, standardized solution packages are available for simple transportation tasks. "This allows existing business processes in particular to be automated more quickly," says Linde's trade fair manager. The company's automation experts can fall back on a large product portfolio when it comes to implementing projects: Its offerings range from AMRs such as the Linde C-MATIC and the Linde C-MATIC HP, automatic pallet stackers (Linde L-MATIC) and tractors (Linde P-MATIC) to reach trucks (Linde R-MATIC) and VNA trucks (Linde K-MATIC).

The "Energy section" of the show covers the company's broad spectrum of available energy types, with an emphasis on its X-Series electric forklifts with lithium-ion batteries. These are as powerful, robust and ergonomic as combustion trucks, but are emission-free and potentially CO2-neutral in operation. In addition, trucks powered by diesel, LPG, CNG, lead-acid batteries, fuel cells and HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) are available as energy options. "Visitors who want to learn more about suitable energy systems for their current or future truck fleet receive software-based advice that provides an initial assessment based on requirements, general conditions and customer-specific situation. This can be followed by further analysis within the company," Rochelmeyer explains. Another focus is the Linde connect: fleet management. In addition to access control, damage control, truck and driver management, truck utilization analysis and predictive maintenance, the Linde connect:charger software module intelligent control of battery chargers, preventing costly power surges.

In general, the following applies to all warehouse operations: The safer the internal flow of goods, the higher the productivity and thus the contribution to the company's success. Using a reach truck equipped with comprehensive safety features, Linde shows how fleet managers can ensure smooth processes and protect their employees. Features range from a host of driver assistance systems such as the Linde Safety Guard for mutual warning of pedestrians and drivers and the Rack Protection Sensor for avoiding collisions with racks and goods to various lighting solutions and protection systems such as the Dynamic Mast Control For reducing mast vibration.

The Warehouse Intelligence section shows visitors how to make their warehouse even more efficient and dynamic using modular software solutions. An application consisting of a warehouse management system, a forklift guidance system and a warehouse control system provides real-time visualization of the warehouse through a three-dimensional view and shows the driver the fastest route to the destination. In the process, it automatically tracks the movement of load carriers at varying storage locations, providing a high degree of transparency. The software can also integrate and control various automated systems such as AGVs and shuttles.
