Durable warehouse racking for years of reuse saves costs and energy

Warehouse racking that can be reused for decades is an ideal solution for many companies. Such is the case for PartsPoint, which regularly takes over companies or merges branches. For the construction of their warehouses, they have been using Europe Racking's materials for decades. Peter Timmermans, Network Support Advisor at PartsPoint: "The racks have an incredibly long lifespan. You can hardly tell the difference between the old and new parts. The other day I saw a shelf that was being reused in a new warehouse and I could tell from the sticker that it was already thirty years old, but otherwise I definitely wouldn't have known, because it still looked as good as new."

Europe Racking is a true specialist when it comes to high-quality warehouse racking and warehouse equipment. By staying true to their original design from 1984 and using only sustainable raw materials, their racking and mezzanine floor systems are endlessly reusable. Their own production facility in Culemborg ensures that they can deliver quickly and cost efficiently. Area sales manager Peter Fonville: "Most of our competitors make the racking from folded steel and regularly change their design. We deliberately make it from tubing which means you create a much stronger and more durable product."

Collaboration

The long partnership between Europe Racking and PartsPoint began some forty years ago in Alkmaar. Fonville: "Our company grew out of Bosal, which used to produce towbars and exhausts. Alliance Automotive Services, of which PartsPoint is a part, then asked us to help think about their warehouse construction. Long story short: it was the start of an entirely separate branch within the company."

Reuse

PartsPoint supplies a wide range of products to garages and dealers from 121 outlets in the Netherlands and Belgium. Naturally, they need a lot of storage space to do this. Timmermans: "If we leave a building, we can very easily dismantle the racks. We then store this material and register it in our online system. When we open a new branch, an account manager from Europe Racking comes by to calculate how much material we need. In our system we can see what we have in stock and we have trailers bring that to the location. There, a team from Europe Racking builds the new warehouses for us. We recently reused ten thousand shelves in this way at a new facility in Groningen. It is not only a cost-saving but also an energy-saving measure. This fits in beautifully with our environmentally friendly practices such as the use of LED lighting, heat pumps and solar panels."

Service

The long collaboration is also due to the service Europe Racking provides. Timmermans: "Because of their short lines, they can pick something up quickly. They operate very solution-oriented and the assembly teams are great. The mechanics know exactly what to do and work incredibly quickly and neatly."

Fonville adds: "We would also like to distinguish ourselves with that. Having our own assembly crew is almost unique these days. Our guys have years of experience and know the ropes. They are also BMWT inspectors." 

Market sectors

Europe Racking has experience in all market sectors and provides both standard and custom products. All products are of high quality and have a premium appearance. Color powder coating is also among the options. "Much we can solve with our standard range. If necessary, we supplement that with custom work developed and produced in-house. Our customers are all over Western Europe, but we are particularly strong in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, England, Denmark and Finland."
